CPQ™ External Recognition & Accreditation Claims Policy

Controls how external recognition is evaluated and communicated using verifiable wording that preserves CPQ methodological independence.

External Review Draftv1.0Issued 2026-08-16Review 2026-11-16
External Review DraftNumeric or procedural requirements not fixed in the original source materials remain proposed CPQ™ policy until formally adopted.
ISO/IEC 17024 · ALIGNMENTThis is a proposed internal alignment document for review. It is not ISO certification, accreditation by ISO/IEC, or an external accreditation decision.

1. Purpose & Basis

This policy operationalises the requirement to avoid undocumented external-recognition or equivalence claims and controls how CPQ evaluates and presents any external recognition. It remains Draft until documented activation.

2. Governing Principles

  • Accuracy: state only what is currently true.
  • Verifiability: identify awarding body, relationship, scope and validity period.
  • Scope clarity: state what recognition covers and excludes.
  • No automatic equivalence between CPQ-T and another body’s credential.
  • Separate CPQ-owned credentials from external recognition.

3. Types of External Recognition

TypeWhat it meansWhat it does not mean
Course/CPD-hours accreditationA specified course met a course-accreditation body’s standardDoes not make CPQ a person-certification body or equate to CPQ-T
Professional membership/affiliationAffiliation with a professional network or bodyNot programme or person accreditation
Third-party programme accreditationA particular programme was reviewed within a stated scopeDoes not automatically extend to other CPQ programmes
Regulatory/government recognitionRecognition by an official body in a defined jurisdictionDoes not automatically apply outside that jurisdiction

4. Acceptance Criteria Before Publication

  • Legal name of the awarding body and a verification route.
  • Accurate description of the relationship.
  • Defined included and excluded scope.
  • Validity and renewal period.
  • Documentary evidence retained in the register.

5. Wording & Display Controls

Wording that implies broader recognition than exists is prohibited, including calling CPQ “internationally accredited” without body and scope, implying CPD course recognition equals CPQ-T, generalising one programme’s recognition to all CPQ programmes, or displaying an expired recognition logo.
