CPQ™ Learning Levels & Equivalence Framework
Level descriptors, learning-hour conventions and indicative international comparability.
1. Purpose & Basis
This document is presented as proposed CPQ™ policy for external review, extending the founding standards pack and drafted to align the CPQ™ ecosystem with ISO/IEC 17024 principles for bodies certifying persons. Any new procedural or numeric requirement remains Draft and does not become binding within CPQ until changed to Active through a documented governance decision; it is not a claim of accreditation or recognition by another body.
This internal framework establishes level descriptors and learning-hour conventions for transparency and consistency. It is not a national-framework equivalence unless separately and formally documented.
2. Level and Learning-Hour Principle
Programme volume is measured by estimated total learning time, including directed learning, self-study and assessment. One CPQ credit is defined as ten estimated total learning hours.
3. CPQ Level Descriptors
Each level is described by depth of knowledge, breadth of skill, and degree of autonomy and responsibility. The mapping below is indicative only.
| CPQ level | Short descriptor | Indicative reference |
|---|---|---|
| Foundation | Safe knowledge and practice under supervision | Professional entry level |
| Practitioner | Integrated competencies with greater autonomy | Practitioner level |
| Specialist | Precision in complex and specialist contexts | Advanced level |
| Educator/Supervisor | Advanced practice, education and supervision | Expert level |
4. Programme and CPQ-T Mapping
| Programme/tier | CPQ level | Indicative learning hours |
|---|---|---|
| CPD™ Diploma | Foundation | Defined by programme specification |
| LCS™ Diploma | Practitioner/Specialist | Defined by programme specification |
| PCA™ Diploma | Specialist within scope limits | Defined by programme specification |
| CTTA™ Diploma | Educator/Supervisor | Defined by programme specification |
| CPQ-T1…T4 | Foundation → Educator/Supervisor | Under CPQ-CRED |
5. International Comparability and Limits
Reference mapping is internal and indicative. It does not create automatic equivalence or recognition by a national framework or external body. Any equivalence or recognition claim requires separate evidence under CPQ-RECOG and CPQ-REGPOS.
